On the outskirts of Tokyo, in a small city bathed by the ocean and surrounded by mountains, is the house where Shuichi spent his childhood and to which he has just returned. Shuichi is a famous illustrator, he is forty years old and has a scar in the middle of his chest. He is obsessed with his heart, he listens to it every night, and with the confusing memories of the past. His mother manipulated them to protect him from pain: she always told him a sweetened version of his little dramas.
