The years between 1857 and 1947 were perhaps the most eventful in the history of the indian sub-continent. After the failure of the Sepoy Mutiny, a new band of leaders emerged who aimed to unite the various regions, classes and communities and inspire them to stand together and demand freedom from British rule.
