This book is a collection of cartoons sketched by the author between 1998 and 2003. A very significant time period for India since a lot changed in this country as far as its social structure and values are concerned. This collection titled In Lighter Vein.. by an Indian basically focuses on the various characters of the Indian population through five mini series viz. Wow! That's India, Take it easy Chaps!, Unreliable Indians, Hello Ministers! and Jobs, Interviews Etc. There are various events and plots that have been sketched which were extremely contemporary during the time period of 1998 and 2003. Simultaneously there are also issues sketched in this collection that are extremely relevant and bothering for the country even today. The collection is supposed to be accepted by people across all age groups since the plots/issues of a majority of the cartoons are known and hence they can clearly see the humor element in them
