Beskrivelse af Ideas Mirrour (1594)
Ideas Mirrour is a collection of sonnets and other poems written by Michael Drayton and published in 1594. The book is divided into three parts, each containing different types of poetry. The first section is a series of sonnets that explore the theme of unrequited love and the pain of rejection. The second section consists of a series of elegies mourning the death of various historical figures, including Sir Philip Sidney and Queen Elizabeth I. The final section contains a variety of other poems, including pastoral poems and allegories. Throughout the book, Drayton's verse is characterized by its formal structure and use of classical allusions. Ideas Mirrour is considered one of Drayton's most important works and is notable for its exploration of themes that would become central to the English Renaissance. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
