Admonishing the reader to avoid some of the more obvious Mesmeric charlatans of the era, it is as much cautionary and dietary as it is technically occult in form and nature.While some of the medical suggestions made here are far from accepted in the modern sense, much of the content is innocuous at worst and sometimes still practiced today.
