Heartbeat of the War

On Independence Day in 1861, Samantha Cornelia Buckner finds herself stuck with her Aunt America when her father marches off to the Civil War with the First Minnesota Regiment. She decides to go to war with her best friend Jamie Watson as a drummer and find her pa. Posing as a soldier, "Sam" drums "his" way across the South. Sam's mission and love for her pa takes her through wind, rain, snow, and battles as she tries to find him and bring him home.
