Beskrivelse af Haworth's (1914)
Haworth's (1914) is a novel written by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The book tells the story of two sisters, Rosalie and Rachel, who are left orphaned after their father's death. The girls are sent to live with their uncle, who is a strict and unloving man. Rosalie, the elder sister, is determined to make the best of their situation and takes on the responsibility of caring for her younger sister. The two girls find solace in their love for each other and their shared passion for literature. They spend their days exploring the beautiful countryside around their uncle's home and reading books from their father's extensive library. As they grow older, they begin to dream of a better life outside of Haworth's and make plans to escape their uncle's oppressive rule. Along the way, they meet a cast of colorful characters who help them on their journey to freedom. Haworth's is a heartwarming tale of sisterly love, perseverance, and the power of literature to transport us to new worlds. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
