Beskrivelse af HAUNTED SKIES Preserving the social History of UFO Research
We will now examine the UFO events that occurred between 1976 and 1977 when, once again, theskies and occasionally the ground played host to all manner of strange phenomena in a periodof UFO history now often referred to as the 'Welsh Wave of 1977', which is somewhat misleading, asour research was to show the events which took place along the Welsh coast only formed part of anenormous number of UFO sightings We felt ourselves fortunate to visit such people as BUFORA representative Randall Jones Pugh, a vet bytrade and a leading authority on the activity that took place in and around the Haverfordwest area ofWales, and Pauline and Billy Combes - central characters to some of the strange events that occurred there - not forgetting some of the children at the Broad Haven County Primary School, who witnessedsomething very peculiar on the slope of the hill next to the school, in early February 1977, which was toattract a huge 'wave' of worldwide media publicity. Many people whom we came across over the intervening years felt frustrated with the attitude adoptedby the MOD, who have always declined to be drawn into any discussion over sightings of UFOs broughtto their attention, and seek to convince us that the majority of UFO sightings can be explained and, asthey are of no Defence significance, are of no interest. People just want answers! At the time of preparation of this revised volume, in late 2018, it is difficult to believe that now 9years ago, in December 2009) of the closure of the MOD Air Desk 2a, which was the first port of callfor many members of the public wishing to report a UFO sighting. The reason given was part of a costcuttingexercise, which may form the impression that UFOs are no longer of any importance to theauthorities. This is puzzling, to say the least, knowing the many occasions involving what appear to havebeen attempts to intercept UFOs by the RAF. The simple truth is, of course, they don't want the public toknow about the reality of the existence of something, or someone, whose daily incursions into our spaceand time continues unabated to this present day.
