Grievance

The second part of the Grievance trilogy sees DI Carole Armstrong drawn deeper into a web of secrets and lies. Following the funeral of Brenda Forres, Carole promises her son Johnny that she will `nail' the two prime suspects. But as more evidence is uncovered and politicians begin to reach for the dream of peace in Belfast, circumstances make it harder than ever for her to keep that vow. Johnny leaves for Germany, to spend time with his brother and see if a new life, in a unified Germany might take the edge off his anger, his longing for revenge. Can he put the past behind him? With the Good Friday Agreement about to be signed, the security services realise that some ties must be cut, secrets buried deeper, and some people will have to be left to their fate. Loyalties, on all sides, are about to be tested to the bitter end.
