Beskrivelse af Going to the Dogs
The purpose of this book is to describe the origin of human-dog bonds, how it evolved from the Ice Age to the present and why this relationship for 43,346,000 American owners exceed cost (AVMA, 2016). It examined why the bond was established and its everlasting benefits to its human caretakers and canines. In doing so, it explores why dogs we select reflect us. The book clarified how our psychosocial behavior is modified and emulates the domestic and extinct gray wolf. The book further explores the healing impact of dog ownership. In doing so, it recognizes the most affectionate and desired of "man's best friends." In addition, the easiest to train in this regard are contrasted with those that are the most difficult to manage. The book then turns to the ancient migratory path of crossbred hominids and dogs out of the caves of Central Asia into Europe, Asia, Northeast Africa and eventually to the Americas. Last but not least, the book assesses the costs and benefits of owning a canine to help prospective buyers make a decision that best fits their lifestyle and needs, as well as insures the welfare of "man's best friend."
