Faith can be a two-pronged fork. On one side we know what we believe. That is our faith, and it stands as a bulwark against all comers. No one can shift us from our beliefs. They are the foundation upon which our lives are built. Yet, there is another side to faith. God asks us to trust in him, and yet when the bank account runs low, we begin to panic. We get a bad oncology report, and all we can think of is that we don't have a paid-up burial plan. We know what we believe, and still, when it comes time to step across the fiery coals, doubt clouds our judgment. All we can see are the flames, and we forget how to step out on God's truth.
