This little book was designed to introduce you to some basic principles of German. While it's not a "pocket phrase book" or a "vocabulary book," it is an ideal text for the serious student, traveler, and explorer searching for a fast introduction to the German language. Most importantly, this book is meant to be fun! We all learned our first language when we were kids. That's a fact worth keeping in mind. In one sense, learning the basics of another language asks that you become a little kid again, that you do things little kids do all the time: that you enjoy yourself without fear, that you make mistakes without worry, and that you play.
