Beskrivelse af From President to Prison 1925
""From President to Prison 1925"" is a memoir written by Ferdinand Ossendowski, a Polish writer and adventurer. The book recounts Ossendowski's experiences during the Russian Revolution and his subsequent imprisonment by the Soviet authorities. At the time of the revolution, Ossendowski was serving as the president of the Russian Far Eastern Republic, a short-lived state that existed in Siberia and the Russian Far East. When the Bolsheviks seized power, Ossendowski was forced to flee for his life, eventually making his way to China. However, Ossendowski's troubles were far from over. In 1923, he was arrested in China and extradited to the Soviet Union, where he was accused of being a counterrevolutionary. He spent the next two years in various Soviet prisons and labor camps, enduring harsh conditions and interrogations.Throughout the book, Ossendowski provides a firsthand account of the chaos and violence of the Russian Revolution, as well as the brutality of the Soviet prison system. He also reflects on his own political beliefs and the events that led him to become involved in the Russian Far Eastern Republic.Overall, ""From President to Prison 1925"" is a gripping and insightful memoir that offers a unique perspective on one of the most tumultuous periods in Russian history. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
