Beskrivelse af Fridtjof Nansen's Farthest North V2, Part 2
Fridtjof Nansen's Farthest North V2, Part 2: Being The Record Of A Voyage Of Exploration Of The Ship Fram 1893-1896 (1897) is a historical record of the Norwegian explorer's three-year expedition to the Arctic region aboard the ship Fram. The book is a continuation of the first volume and provides detailed accounts of Nansen's experiences during the latter half of his journey. The book begins with Nansen and his crew's arrival at Franz Josef Land, an archipelago in the Arctic Ocean, and their attempts to explore the region. Nansen describes the harsh conditions they faced, including extreme cold, strong winds, and treacherous ice, as well as the challenges of navigating through uncharted waters. Throughout the book, Nansen also provides insights into the natural environment and the wildlife he encountered, including polar bears, walruses, and Arctic foxes. He also describes the scientific experiments and observations conducted during the expedition, including studies of ocean currents, ice formation, and magnetic fields. The book concludes with the crew's triumphant return to Norway, having successfully completed their mission to reach the farthest point north. Nansen's Farthest North V2, Part 2 is a fascinating account of one of the most significant Arctic expeditions of the late 19th century and provides a valuable historical perspective on the challenges and triumphs of early polar exploration. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
