Beskrivelse af Four Weeks In The Trenches
Four Weeks in the Trenches is a memoir written by Fritz Kreisler, an Austrian-born American violinist and composer who served as a lieutenant in the Austro-Hungarian army during World War I. The book recounts his experiences during his four weeks of active duty in the trenches on the Eastern Front in 1915. Kreisler describes the harsh conditions of trench warfare, including the constant threat of enemy fire, the lack of food and sleep, and the pervasive fear and anxiety that permeated every moment of his service. He also writes about the camaraderie and sense of duty that he and his fellow soldiers shared, as well as the moments of levity and humanity that they were able to find in the midst of the horrors of war. Throughout the book, Kreisler reflects on the senselessness of war and the toll it takes on both the soldiers who fight it and the civilians who are caught in its crossfire. He also offers a poignant tribute to the fallen soldiers who lost their lives in the conflict. Originally published in 1915, Four Weeks in the Trenches is a powerful and moving account of one man's experiences in the First World War. It is widely regarded as one of the most vivid and compelling memoirs of the conflict, and has been praised for its honesty, clarity, and insight into the human experience of war.Four Weeks in the Trenches The War Story of a Violinist. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
