These chapters cover the pre-history of the earth and present the various theological points of view that provide for discussion of a study group.

Tekna' Aban Balan is a great love story told in the poetic form in the Kayan language. It is the story of Balan Lejau, an aristocrat whose beautiful second wife was kidnapped by two people from another world because of her great beauty. Now a widower a second time, Balan Lejau became very depressed at not being able to bury his dead and refused to eat until he became emaciated with sunken eyes. After being told she was still alive however in another world, he recovered his strength and set about to recover her. He made a magical ladder from blow pipe darts to reach the sky. As a high ranking aristocrat who Kayans believed are descended from the spirit world as described in their story of the Tree of Life, he was able to enter to search for her. He overcame several challenges he never encountered on earth and seduced all the wives of the warriors that had left them to tend to their farms. The story ended with a fierce battle between Balan Lejau and the two men that had kidnapped his wife. He defeated them both and brought back their heads back as trophy to his longhouse.

THE HEART HAS A HOMELY FACE is a book of introspective poetry composed on ordinary themes that come through a Taoist perspective. Anderson's poetry rests on a point of inner balance upon common experiences. He brings forth the insights that most people can relate to concerning their connection with all things living. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.Based on this ending, it stands to reason that for even the other Bible stories which are included in scripture, many details have been left out because the respective writers can say so much and no more. Have you ever wondered what details might have been left out of the Christmas narrative as we know them? It is that kind of curiosity which sparked the imaginative thoughts that brought these two Christmas musicals together.The characters were normal human beings with emotions. If you think of it, Joseph would have been jealous and angry when he thought that Mary was unfaithful to him. That kind of emotion might have led to a verbal showdown between the two until the angel appeared to Joseph directly. In turn, Mary must have been pretty distraught that Joseph kept accusing her wrongly and that he continued to question her integrity. Why was he going to break off the engagement? Did he not trust and have confidence in the innocent virgin? Both Mary and Joseph would have had parents too, so how did they come into the picture? What were their immediate thoughts when news of the miracle pregnancy unfolded? There might have been uncertainty and confusion, even among the people of God. One may even assume that there may have been gossips in that society who, like some persons in this day and age, just enjoyed embellishing stories which sounded juicy.At the other end of the spectrum, one wonders what the atmosphere may have been like in the palace of Herod. Was it all anger and jealousy which prevailed, or did the raw human emotions of nervousness and anxiety come to the fore?A Dream Come True and Believe Me, I Believe depicts the Christmas narrative fully as described in the Bible. However, some of these thoughts and questions come out very clearly during the plot. In a combination of poetry and drama, music and dance, the story with the added imaginative scenes unfolds with all these elements interwoven into one continuous narrative. The overall Christian message comes out clearly and very strongly toward the end of each musical, and while the plots may differ, they both carry the underlying theme of evangelism as persons are encouraged to believe in this Jesus and give their lives to Him.

However, things are not perfect in Om, and the young hero of the story, Sam Warner (aged eleven) is called upon to use his skills as a champion bowler to save the land from serious danger. Sam has suffered the disillusionment of seeing his bowling alley in Vancouver demolished without any serious effort by those in authority to save it. It is never quite clear whether his journey to Om is no more than a dream or whether it arises from a mysterious combination of cosmic forces that have been set in motion to right the wrong that he has experienced. Guaranteed to touch the heart strings and bring smiles and many moments of laugh-out-loud enjoyment to readers of every age, but especially to those willing to travel in imagination to places of wonder where everyone is encouraged to be the best that they can be.

Dan McCrory's book, Capitalism Killed the Middle Class: 25 Ways the System is Rigged Against You, is part memoir, part history lesson, part cautionary tale. Dan published his novel You Will Forever Be My Always, to raise awareness about Parkinson's Disease. The book was a winner in the 2022 Los Angeles Book Festival in the wild card category because the judges apparently agreed that the book defies genre and that "literary fiction" seems at least partially descriptive. It has achieved a reputation as a very funny book and, possibly soon, a very funny series. Dan was published in the 2020 anthology of California's Best Emerging Poets and really took it heart. He now has written a poem about everything. He had two scripts reach quarter-finalist status in the NYC International Screenplay Awards.
