The conception of Hindu marriage in the Rigvedic society had a very high standard of morality. They were married after finishing their studenthood at the age of puberty. Various considerations were taken for choosing a desirable bridegroom and bride. These types of society had their own challenges. They were acceptable to the society. But when we discuss the rights and duties of the husband and wife towards each other, descent conduct has been laid down and rules of monogamy were stressed. Truly admitting that a male dominated society was very old and too were responsible for women behaviour. Men had exploited women and so had the women. They had mishandled them and used them for increasing their earning in the way they wanted, sold them, marketed and advertised them like a commodity.A well defined Chapter XX, under the heading, of Offences Relating to Marriage was framed. Well defined offences (Sec 493-Sec 498) were laid out.

India is a global player in coal mining, in order tosustain, it requires developing a Green miningtechnology. All mining operations in India involve continuous use of explosives, thereby generatinghigh noise level, vibration and shock and very highlevel of dust pollution. Today all-overs world minesare facing one of the major problems of dustpollutions which not only affects the health of theminers but also makes the condition quite explosivewhen the mine is degree-II or Degree-III in gassiness,The same concern has also been shown by The President of India in his Inaugural Address at the ¿19th World Mining Congress & Expo 2003, in New Delhi, Indiä. According to the Pocket Book of Labour Statistics 2006, Ministry of Labour, Government of India it has been found that number of industrial injuries in coal mines are much more than the total injuries of other mines. It is also observed that the fatalities rate is much higher in underground mines than that of open cast mines. Out of the many factors one of the major causes of the accident is the fire. This book deals with the feasibility study and development of waterjet cutting technology for Indian coal mines.

Remarkable developments and scope of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology for human welfare have attracted huge number of talents to pursue their career in this field. Banasthali University, Rajasthan, India as part of its Jubilee Celebrations commemorating 25 years of its establishment as a university, organized an International Conference on Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (ICMBB-2008) during October 19-21,2008. The conference received overwhelming response and was attended by more than 500 participants globally including delegates not only from India but also from USA, Japan, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Nigeria etc. Total 18 technical sessions, including two poster sessions were organized. These sessions included 14 keynote lectures, about 50 oral presentations and over 100 posters. Based on quality and interest of audience few full length papers/articles were invited from established and also from budding scientists to compile the present proceedings. We have tried to cover various aspects of biotechnology undertaken during the conference to make the proceedings attractive and interesting for wider groups of Biologists.

Genetic diversity remains the fundamental step for plant improvement in era of genomics. Understanding how diversity is structured is not only a prerequisite for systematic sampling of the germplasm but also helps in designing suitable conservation strategies. Syzygium cumini (Black Berry) is a large evergreen multipurpose tree of family Myrtaceae. The tree which is native to India thrives easily in tropical climate and is found in many parts of Asia and Eastern Africa. S. cumini is widely used world wide in treatment of diabetes. This work demonstrated how genetic diversity is structured in Syzygium populations. This book shows how dominant markers (RAPD and ISSR) could be used for tree species in population genetic analysis. Apart from genetic analysis, phytochemical variations have been studied together as a tool for authentication of germplasm and biodiversity evaluation.
