First Victim

Based on true events, author Nicholas Del Gandio chronicles the life of a newlywed mother unknowingly immersed in a heinous web of crime perpetuated by her infant son's father. Driven by a twisted tonic of psychopathic grandiosity, Robert L. Maseano's initial acts of larceny propel him deeper into crimes of emotional terror, physical assault, sexual torture and sodomy. But one victim is not enough for this narcissistic monster. His first, second and third targets serve only to whet his insatiable appetite for more complex prey and devious scenarios. Before long, Brooklyn detectives are in the hunt and Robert Maseano has been dubbed the Tape Measure Rapist. Immersed in the chase and committed to capturing the Tape Measure Rapist, Ann Maseano and her young son Nicholas are left in the wake of detectives and a criminal justice system dedicated to taking felons down without regard for the criminal's family - also known as the collateral victims, and in this instance, the First Victim.
