Albert Lester describes his experiences in Nazi Germany in the 1930s before World War II started. Then as a Jew having to leave Germany along with some other children vey quickly without his parents eventually arriving in England via boat and train to start a new life with other refugees. He describes his new life in England where he stayed throughout World War II before leaving in 1946 to travel to Rhodesia. He would meet up with his parents who he hadn't seen for 7 years to start another part of his life
