Samantha Evans Patterson has a unique talent: she can hear other people's thoughts. That ability comes in handy when a new cop is literally forced on her husband's team. Dave Patterson is the team leader and when Roy Dawson is placed on his police team without his input, he calls on his wife, Sammi, to use her mystical powers to vet the newcomer, and the discoveries she makes leads to crooked politicians, crooked cops and a case that threatens to become fatal to a lot of those involved, and to a most unexpected conclusion.
