Everyday Coding

Coding is a part of our everyday world! In this book colourful photos and an easy to access text invite readers to explore the world of coding. Age appropriate descriptions of what coding is and how computers use it to function are provided for young readers. Examples of everyday objects that require coding in order to function are explored with supplemental information provided to support ongoing questions children may have while discussing the book with an adult. This book can spark 21st century conversations with children, and be used as a guide for discovering the rich computational thinking that exists in the world around us. Photos can also be used to engage children in math conversations as they observe and discuss what they see, think and wonder. This book would be an excellent introductory text to use when first introducing the concept of coding with children. Appropriate for ages 3 - 10.
