Beskrivelse af Eskimo Folk-Tales (1921)
Eskimo Folk-Tales is a collection of traditional stories and legends from the indigenous people of Greenland, the Inuit. The book was first published in 1921 and was compiled by Danish explorer and ethnographer, Knud Rasmussen. The tales in the book are divided into four sections: tales of the gods and giants, tales of the sea and the land, tales of animals, and tales of love and marriage. Each section contains a number of stories that provide insight into the beliefs, customs, and way of life of the Inuit people. The stories are told in a simple and straightforward style, with a focus on the characters and their actions. Many of the tales feature animals as central characters, such as the clever fox, the loyal dog, and the powerful polar bear. The stories often have a moral or lesson to impart, and many are infused with humor and wit.Eskimo Folk-Tales is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the folklore and mythology of the Inuit people. It provides a fascinating glimpse into a rich and vibrant culture, as well as offering timeless tales that are sure to entertain and inspire readers of all ages. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
