Beskrivelse af Endymion
Endymion: A Poetic Romance is a long narrative poem written by the famous English Romantic poet, John Keats. The poem is divided into four books and tells the story of Endymion, a young shepherd who falls in love with the moon goddess, Cynthia. Endymion becomes obsessed with Cynthia and embarks on a journey to find her, encountering various obstacles and adventures along the way. The poem is filled with rich and vivid imagery, as Keats describes the natural world in intricate detail. Endymion is also notable for its use of classical mythology, as Keats draws on the stories of Greek gods and goddesses to create a fantastical world of love and adventure. Throughout the poem, Keats explores themes of love, beauty, and the power of imagination. He also reflects on the nature of poetry and the role of the poet in creating beauty and meaning in the world. Endymion was not initially well-received by critics, who found it to be overly ambitious and lacking in coherence. However, it has since become recognized as one of Keats' most important works, and a key example of the Romantic poetry of the early 19th century.A thing of beauty is a joy for ever: Its loveliness increases; it will never....This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
