Beskrivelse af Early Days (1849)
Early Days is an autobiographical work by Samuel Bamford, a British radical and labor activist who lived during the 19th century. The book was first published in 1849 and is an account of Bamford's early life, from his childhood in Middleton, Lancashire, to his early experiences as a weaver and political activist. Bamford's writing is characterized by his vivid descriptions of the social and political conditions of his time, as well as his personal experiences and reflections. He writes about the poverty and hardship that he and his family faced, the struggles of the working-class to organize and improve their conditions, and his own involvement in the early labor movement. Throughout the book, Bamford also provides insights into the broader political and social context of his time, including the Chartist movement, the Peterloo Massacre, and the various political and social upheavals that characterized the early 19th century in Britain. Overall, Early Days is an important historical document that provides a unique perspective on the experiences of working-class people in 19th century Britain, as well as the development of the labor movement and the struggle for social and political rights. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
