Beskrivelse af Dreamers Of The Ghetto (1898)
Dreamers of the Ghetto is a novel by Israel Zangwill, first published in 1898. The book is set in the Jewish ghetto of Victorian London and follows the lives of several characters who are struggling to reconcile their Jewish identity with the demands of modern society. The main characters are Reb Shemuel, a rabbi who is torn between his traditional beliefs and the desire to modernize his community, and his daughter, Esther, who falls in love with a Christian man. The novel explores themes of assimilation, interfaith relationships, and the tension between tradition and modernity. It is considered a seminal work of Jewish literature and a classic of Victorian fiction. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
