This work comes from the omission of the doctrine of a future state of reward and punishment in the Jewish dispensation. The author has no claim of patronage, other than that of religion. He begs leave to assure those who have neither ears to hear, nor hearts to understand, but what concerns the public good, that the protection of religion is indispensably necessary to all governments and for his warrant he offers them this volume.
