Devil in the Mirror

- Overcoming the Enemy's Attack

Bag om Devil in the Mirror

Not many people can survive going to jail, depression, lost of family and friends, or being publicly humiliated. But one man overcame all of these experiences of life and then some and wrote a book about it to help others. C. Nathaniel Brown writes a compelling and transparent account of many of his struggles as he strives to become a better man and a better Christian. In this book, Devil in the Mirror: Overcoming the Enemy's Attack, Brown describes his journey for spiritual wholeness by sharing first-person accounts of life lessons, spiritual guidance, and principles he believes will offer hope to many in similar situations. He writes in the book: "I got the title, Devil in the Mirror: Overcoming the Enemy's Attack, as I submitted to the process that God placed me in to make sure that I was indeed becoming the man that He called me to be. I had to go through some things. I had to see some things. I had to feel some things. I had to lose some things. In other words, I had to die. That was personal. I wrote about how at 30, God gave me a message I thought I was only to teach or preach. But it was much more than a message for the people. It was a message for me. To briefly summarize, God asked, "What would you do if you only had 31/2 years to live?" It was deep. I began to study the 31/2-year public ministry of Jesus Christ. I didn't realize then that in 31/2 years I would die and need the power of God to resurrect me. The devil thought I was a pawn in his game, but what the devil meant for evil God turned for good. God used the devil to get glory. But in doing so, it takes exposing each one of us, the devils in us, the flaws in our character, in our ministries, and Satan himself. When the devil's plan backfires, sometimes we get hit by some of the pellets and sustain flesh wounds. But the devil absorbs the severe injuries, severe unto death. We live to tell the stories." Brown reveals the hurts of his self-examination process. He shares intimate details such as being tormented by abortions in his life, being arrested on indecent assault charges, and being separated from his family. But he doesn't stop at the pain of the tragedies, he shares how he was able to discover breakthrough. Devil in the Mirror is a blueprint for anyone battling depression, lost of family members, or simply trying to become a better person.
