In her book, "Dance Your Way to An Empowered Self: Four Elements to Achieve Shining Confidence," Nancy takes you on her journey from victim to victor and shows us how we can do the same. She shares her story of growing up with almost non-existent confidence, the repercussions of living that way, her way out of that way of living, and the amazing turnaround in her life because of it. The biggest lesson that she shares with us is how living in a place of low self-esteem fosters abuse from others. In this book we learn that misogyny, abuse (physical, mental and emotional), discrimination, and all the ways that women and girls are taken advantage of can be fought most effectively not with more aggression & anger, but with lightness and care. Nancy gives us the steps that we can take to become the empowered women that we are longing to be and do so in easy, fun ways. Nancy got to this place by taking the lessons she learned through dancing (her one place where she felt empowered) and applied them to her everyday life. The outcome was a strong, empowered, confident woman that was now strong enough to do what was right for her and no longer be taken advantage of. "Dance Your Way to An Empowered Self" teaches us that by building our core confidence we give off a different vibe to those that search for weakness to manipulate. We also gain the strength to say "No" when faced with situations that aren't good for us.
