Beskrivelse af Comus (1877)
Comus is a play written by John Milton in 1634, which was later published as a poem in 1637. The story is set in a magical forest where a young woman named Lady Alice is separated from her brothers and becomes lost. She is then approached by the god of revelry, Comus, who tries to tempt her with wine and music. However, Lady Alice resists his advances and is eventually rescued by her brothers and the virtuous spirit, Sabrina. The play explores themes of temptation, virtue, and the power of nature. Milton's use of language and imagery creates a vivid and enchanting world, making Comus a classic work of English literature. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
