Beskrivelse af Cognitive Anthropology
Cognitive anthropology refers to an approach which includes biological anthropology and cultural anthropology. It focuses on describing transmission across space and time, patterns of shared knowledge and cultural innovation using theories and tools of cognitive sciences. It entails close collaboration with linguists, ethnographers, musicologists, historians, archaeologists and other experts who are involved in the interpretation and study of cultural forms. Cognitive anthropology is concerned with what people from various societies know and how that implicit knowledge or what they think subconsciously affects how they perceive and connect to their surroundings. The interaction of thought and language, cultural models, and folk taxonomies are all studied within this field. In order to understand culture, it employs both traditional ethnographic methodologies and quantitative measures of cultural anthropology. The topics included in this book on cognitive anthropology are of utmost significance and bound to provide incredible insights to readers. It will serve as a reference to a broad spectrum of readers.
