Clinical Asthma

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the lungs. It is associated with the blockage of the airways and bronchospasm. Its symptoms include chest tightness, shortness of breath, coughing and wheezing. People suffering from asthma are more likely to develop obstructive sleep apnea, anxiety disorders, rhinosinusitis and gastro-esophageal reflux disease. Asthma can be caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. People having eczema, hay fever, atopic disease, urticaria and eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis have a greater risk of developing asthma.
