Christmas in Shallow Gorge

Raising his three rambunctious children on a small farm in Shallow Gorge, Colorado, Billy Spence is at his wits' end. It's hard enough to eke out a living in such a rough area; it's even harder caring for three little ones on his own. He's desperate for a solution and would sure like to have one by Christmas... After her last living relative succumbs to the Russian flu that cold December, Alice Fletcher wants to leave her nursing job in New York and settle somewhere new and fresh. But she doesn't know where to even start. She's desperate for an answer. Billy's advert for a Mail Order Bride by Christmas turns out to be just what both of them need - at least, that's how it appears. But between Billy's reluctance to let himself love again, Alice's need for honesty, and a dastardly plot to take Billy's farm from him by the New Year, things aren't exactly going smoothly in Shallow Gorge. Only two things can bring these two people together when they're as different as Billy and Alice: understanding and love.
