It's an important vegetable crop grown in tropical and subtropical regions of the world due to its wider adaptability, year round cultivation, highly nutritive along with medicinal value, export potential and good portability. The green tender fruits of okra are good source of carbohydrates, protein, vitamins (A, B and C) and rich in calcium, potassium and other mineral matters.
