The Chances, A Comedy; Philaster, A Tragedy; Rule A Wife And Have A Wife, A Comedy is a collection of three plays written by the English playwrights Francis Beaumont and John Fletcher. The first play, The Chances, is a comedy that tells the story of two brothers who are separated at birth and later reunite, only to find themselves in love with the same woman. The second play, Philaster, is a tragedy that follows the story of a prince who falls in love with a woman who is already betrothed to another man, leading to a series of tragic events. The third play, Rule A Wife And Have A Wife, is a comedy that explores the themes of marriage and gender roles, as a man attempts to train his wife to be the perfect spouse. Originally published in 1777, this collection of plays is considered a classic of English literature and is still widely read and performed today. Also Contains Gustavus Vasa, The Deliverer Of His Country: A Tragedy, By Henry Brooke; Barbarossa, A Tragedy By John Brown. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
