Catriona

Catriona is a historical novel written by Robert Louis Stevenson and published in 1893. It is a sequel to his earlier novel, Kidnapped, and continues the story of its protagonist, David Balfour. The novel is set in 1751, two years after the events of Kidnapped, and follows David as he returns to Scotland after a long absence in the Low Countries. Upon his return, David becomes embroiled in a political conspiracy involving the Jacobite uprising, which seeks to restore the exiled Stuart dynasty to the throne of Great Britain.
