This docunovel is an amalgam of truth and fiction. All of the events described are based on actual occurrences, some of which have been slightly altered for the sake of dramatic unity. Some of the characters are a combination of several people; this allows a consolidation for literary efficiency The names of living policemen and all others involved, have been changed to protect the privacy of those who were there. The City of Santa Rosa best duplicates the actual background for this tale of a truly innocent young man arrested and indicted for a crime he REALLY DIDN'T COMMIT. The time of this docunovel is 1989 I have retired with the rank of Detective 1st. Inspector Plato Gomez retired in 1986 (under protest) because of injuries suffered in a gunfight. He had a spinal fusion. We had lived out our mutual dream of going private (Caribbean Cops IV). It was finally time to move on, and get a job that didn't require the use of a gun.
