Beskrivelse af Borrowed Plumes (1902)
Borrowed Plumes is a novel written by Owen Seaman and originally published in 1902. The story follows the life of a young man named George Westray, who is determined to make a name for himself in the literary world. He moves to London and begins working as a journalist, but struggles to find success. One day, Westray meets a wealthy and influential man named Sir John Kynaston, who offers him a job as his secretary. Westray accepts the offer and soon finds himself caught up in a world of high society and political intrigue. He becomes involved in a scandal when he is accused of plagiarizing another writer's work, and must fight to clear his name and salvage his reputation. Throughout the novel, Seaman explores themes of ambition, class, and morality. He paints a vivid portrait of turn-of-the-century London, with its bustling streets, fashionable salons, and cutthroat publishing industry. Borrowed Plumes is a gripping tale of one man's quest for success and the challenges he faces along the way. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
