Beskrivelse af Blood Royal (1892)
Blood Royal is a historical novel written by Grant Allen and published in 1892. The book is set in the late 18th century and follows the lives of two young men, one of whom is the rightful heir to the French throne. The story takes place during the French Revolution and explores the themes of power, love, and loyalty. The novel begins with the introduction of the two main characters, Philippe and Louis. Philippe is the son of the King of France, but he is not the heir to the throne because of a deformity that makes him unfit to rule. Louis, on the other hand, is the illegitimate son of the Duke of Orleans and is a close friend of Philippe. As the revolution begins to unfold, Philippe and Louis are forced to flee Paris and go into hiding. They are pursued by a group of revolutionaries who are determined to capture and execute them. Along the way, they meet a number of interesting characters, including a beautiful young woman named Marie.Throughout the book, Allen explores the complex relationships between the characters and the challenges they face as they try to survive in a world that is rapidly changing. The novel is filled with intrigue, suspense, and romance, making it a compelling read for anyone interested in historical fiction. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
