Beskrivelse af Between the Lines
Between the Lines is a novel written by Boyd Cable. The story is set during World War I and follows the experiences of a British soldier named Johnnie. Johnnie is a young man who has joined the army to fight for his country, but he quickly realizes that the reality of war is far different from what he imagined. He is sent to the front lines, where he witnesses the horrors of battle and the toll it takes on the soldiers. Throughout the novel, Johnnie struggles to maintain his sanity and his sense of humanity in the face of the brutality of war. He forms close bonds with his fellow soldiers, including a young officer named Jack and a grizzled veteran named Old Bill. Together, they try to make sense of the senseless violence around them and find a way to survive.Between the Lines is a powerful and moving novel that captures the realities of war and the impact it has on those who fight it. It is a testament to the courage and resilience of the human spirit in the face of unimaginable adversity.1915. This book, all of which has been written at the Front within sound of the German guns and for the most part within shell and rifle range, is an attempt to tell something of the manner of struggle that has gone on for months between the lines along the Western Front, and more especially of what lies behind and goes to the making of those curt and vague terms in the war communiqus. I think that our people at Home will be glad to know more, and ought to know more, of what these bald phrases may actually signify, when, in the other sense, we read between the lines. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
