And so starts the saga of an Australian Family. Although this is the story of my ancestors, it is also the story of Australia.
William Chalker arrived in Australia aboard the convict ship Perseus on 13th of July 1808 and became the first member of the family to become "Australian."
An Australian Story follows the story of William and his descendants' over two centuries
As we discover the family adventures, we also are able to discover parts of Australia's rich history through the family's eyes.
"An Australian Story" concludes with the death of William Chalker's great, great, great granddaughter in 1998.
"An Australian Story" is the history of a country as seen by one family!
