Beskrivelse af Aurora Leigh, A Poem In Nine Books
Aurora Leigh is a long narrative poem by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, divided into nine books. The poem follows the story of Aurora Leigh, a young woman who aspires to be a poet and struggles to find her place in society. In the fifth book, Aurora travels to Italy and meets her cousin, who introduces her to the world of art and literature. In the sixth book, Aurora falls in love with a man named Romney, but their relationship is complicated by their different social backgrounds. In the seventh book, Aurora confronts the challenges of being a female writer in a male-dominated industry. In the eighth book, she experiences a personal crisis and struggles to find meaning in her life. Finally, in the ninth book, Aurora finds redemption and a sense of purpose through her art. The poem explores themes of gender, class, art, and identity, and is widely regarded as one of Browning's most important works. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
