Beskrivelse af Apostasy
Apostasy as a subject is too critical that it cannot be over-emphasized, especially as the End Time will be marked by massive apostasy. A scripture-based understanding of the subject of apostasy is very critical to avoiding the danger that is inherent in the misinterpretation of the subject. The danger of misinterpreting any concept is that the body of doctrines we build on such misinterpretation becomes faulty. Faulty doctrines, particularly on this very critical subject can lead believers to think that apostasy is a sin like any other they can toy with, in the false belief that they will always have the grace to be restored after apostatizing. Hence, the question this book addresses is "Can an apostate can be restored to faith or not."Apostasy: Content and Consequence presents a simple, scripture-based description and explanation of apostasy, to distinguish it from, and also relate it to other Bible subjects that have been mistaken for apostasy. A major misunderstanding is that apostasy is backsliding. This book addresses this misconception by differentiating between apostasy and backsliding. Thus, it lays bare the necessary ingredients or components of apostasy. This book clearly draws a fine line between apostasy and blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. It presents an easy-to-understand description of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, relate it to, and properly place it within the context of apostasy. Again, this book draws upon the law of marriage and divorce to clearly distinguish between the apostate and a backslider and their relationship with Christ. Thus, in addressing the subject of apostasy this book also discusses a number of other Bible themes that hitherto have been ignored or vaguely discussed. This book locates apostasy within the context of the supremacy and holiness of God who does not condone presumptuous or wilful idolatry. It explains the nexus of grace, repentance, forgiveness of sin, restoration, and man's agency. It also unveils cases of apostasy such as Lucifer, Adam, Aaron, Solomon and Judas.
