Beskrivelse af Anna Karenina (1886)
Anna Karenina is a novel written by the acclaimed Russian author, Leo Tolstoy, and published in 1886. The book is set in the 19th century and tells the story of the titular character, Anna Karenina, a married woman who falls in love with a dashing cavalry officer named Count Vronsky. The novel explores the themes of love, marriage, family, social status, and morality. It is divided into eight parts, each focusing on different characters and their relationships. The story is set in both Moscow and St. Petersburg, and the rural countryside of Russia.Anna Karenina is a complex character who struggles to reconcile her love for Vronsky with her duty to her husband and son. Her affair with Vronsky leads to social ostracism and eventually tragedy. The novel also follows the story of Levin, a wealthy landowner who is searching for meaning in his life and trying to find happiness in his relationships.Tolstoy's writing is known for its vivid descriptions of characters and settings, as well as its exploration of philosophical and moral questions. Anna Karenina is considered one of the greatest works of literature and has been adapted into numerous films, plays, and operas. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
