Beskrivelse af An invisible creature makes its presence known
In the book, insights into the SARS-CoV-2 pathology, host¿s immune function including innate, cellular, and humoral responses, and immunomodulatory functions of SARS-CoV-2 including cytokine storm and immune evasion has been elaborated. The book sheds light on present clinical and laboratory-based applications enrolled in the SARS-CoV-2 diagnosis. Keeping sight on pathogenesis and SARS-CoV-2 immune function, current preventive and therapeutic strategies have been discussed. Further, the role of ACE receptors in the viral entry into the host cell, the effect of COVID-19 on the symptoms and prognosis of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), impact of ACE inhibitors (ACEI), and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) on CVD patients and also suffering from COVID-19 has been discussed. Nevertheless, the role of ACE2 genetic polymorphism during SARS-CoV-2 infection has been brought into light. Based on this information, modulation in ACE2 medications can be an alternative for the treatment of CVD patients infected with COVID-19 .
