Beskrivelse af Africa and the 50th Year Independence: The Road so Far. Contemporary Journal of African Society Volume 1. Issue 1
This Journal examines the state of African development
since independence. It compares the past and the
present and addresses the issues systematically. Most
of the materials in this Journal were based on other
activists and IAHRAC interventions on issues relating to
Human Right abuses. Some of the materials were also
collected from already existing journals and issues on
Africa affairs especially from the UN point of view.
The Journal dwells on the role of leaders with special
emphasis on some countries as well as the role of individuals
in various countries¿ development. The materials
in this Journal critically reviewed the factors hindering
Africäs development and encouraged leaders to take
meaningful steps forward, after fifty years of independence.
The materials in this Journal are written by several
human rights activists and intellectuals from different
academic domains. This Journal will be useful for individuals
and academic institutions whose role is to promote
democracy in both developed and developing countries.
It is our aim that readers understand the effects of good
governance, political change in various African countries
and the problems affecting food insecurity in the
continent.
