The Living Presence Symposium was organized by The Partnership for Catholic Sacred Architecture under the chairmanship of architect Michael Patrick, AIA as a collaboration between the School of Architecture at The University of Notre Dame in South Bend Indiana (Prof. Duncan Stroik) and The School of Architecture & Planning at The Catholic University of America in Washington DC (Prof. George J. Martin). The purpose of the symposium was to establish a forum for discussion between interested parties in academia, the design professions, the clergy and craftsmen, on the current state and direction of Catholic Sacred Architecture.
