Beskrivelse af A Half Century Of Conflict
A Half Century of Conflict is a historical book written by Francis Parkman. The book covers the period of history from 1660 to 1713, which is known as the French and Indian War. The book is divided into two parts, the first part covers the early history of the French and English colonies in North America, and the second part covers the war itself. The book is a detailed account of the conflict between the French and English colonies, including the battles and skirmishes that took place, as well as the political and social factors that contributed to the conflict. The book also covers the role of Native American tribes in the conflict, and their alliances with the French and English. The author uses primary sources to provide a comprehensive and accurate account of this important period in North American history. The book is considered a classic in American history and is still widely read and studied today.La Jonquire still clung to the hope of a successful stroke at Annapolis, till in October an Acadian brought him the report that the garrison of that place had received a reinforcement of twelve hundred men. The reinforcement consisted in reality of three small companies of militia sent from Boston by Shirley. La Jonquire called a secret council, and the result seems to have been adverse to any further attempt. The journalist reports that only a thousand men were left in fighting condition, and that even of these some were dying every day. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
