Beskrivelse af A Dog Named Angelo
A Dog Named Angelo was written to show children both the very special bond one can develop with a pet and the inevitable goodbye that is implied with dog ownership. We might have the brief impression that we rescue them...The truth is our dogs rescue us from a mundane existence with other mere humans and display true loyalty we would not experience otherwise. A mix of Rottweiler/Pitbull/Border Collie/ Black Lab with an Italian name; this one in particular turned out to be so much more than a best "fur-end," Angelo proved to be the love of a lifetime and beyond.
Bailey Jued Larroquette was raised on a farm in a rural mennonite community of hard work and simple living in Northern Alberta. Hailing from two German parents, she had always assumed the origin of being "a purebred," only to discover via "a spit-kit," that she too was a "mixed breed," consisting of German/Swedish/Russian/European descent. Growing up with animals under the rustling, tinkling Aurora Borealis of the night skies in the north taught one life's most valuable lessons about the bond between man and beast; humans and nature. There is nothing else as ethereal. Her city cousins were fascinated by farm life while Bailey and her sisters were convinced chores existed to ruin their lives. They longed to live as their cousins did with record players and a closer proximity to fizzy drinks, potato chips and bubble gum. Today's nostalgic struggle is fighting off calories while missing the clean life of farming and strong community ties. Who knew it had been the best of times, now an unattainable life left behind with endless fond memories to cherish forever.
