Beskrivelse af A Discourse Concerning the Being and Attributes of God, the Obligations of Natural Religion and the Truth and Certainty of the Christian Revelation
A Discourse Concerning the Being and Attributes of God, the Obligations of Natural Religion and the Truth and Certainty of the Christian Revelation is a philosophical and theological work authored by Samuel Clarke. The book explores the nature and existence of God, as well as the characteristics and attributes that define Him. Clarke also delves into the concept of natural religion and the responsibilities that humans have to follow it. Additionally, the book examines the validity and truth of Christian revelation, and argues for its certainty. Overall, A Discourse Concerning the Being and Attributes of God is a comprehensive and thought-provoking analysis of some of the most fundamental questions about religion and spirituality.1732. This treatise was written as an answer to Mr. Hobbes, Spinoza, the Author of the Oracles of Reason, and other deniers of natural and revealed religion. It contains sixteen sermons, preached in the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, in the years 1704 and 1705 at the lecture founded by the honorable Robert Boyle, in which is inserted a discourse concerning the connection of the prophecies in the Old Testament and the application of them to Christ. There is also an answer to a seventh letter concerning the argument a priori in proof of the being of God. Written in Old English. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
