Beskrivelse af A Better Woman
A Better Woman is a full-length, two act comedy play about love and indecision.
Tom is searching for 'the one'. In fact, now that he's in his forties, Tom's been searching for 'the one' for quite some time. After a few romantic near misses, he turns to the world of online dating to find someone to grow old with.
With the help of his despairing neighbours he launches a determined quest to find his perfect match, undertaking an exhausting series of whirlwind dates only to discover that they all look like his ex ... Bar one.
And she's pretty scary.
While Tom prevaricates, past and present come together to force his reluctant hand.
Simon Mendes da Costa is also the author of Losing Louis, for which he was nominated Most Promising Playwright by the Evening Standard Theatre Awards. A Better Woman had its premiere at Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury in 2015, about which Michael Billington wrote in the Guardian: 'This new piece tackles the perils of internet dating with similar angst-ridden gaiety.'
